Houses to visit nearby include Canons Ashby House which is a Grade 1 Listed Elizabethan Manor House and only 2 miles from Maidford. Sulgrave Manor, the home of George Washington's ancestors is within 8 miles. The Star Inn at Sulgrave does good food too.
For all Motor Racing enthusiasts, the Silverstone Circuit is an easy 8 mile drive through back country lanes - easy access even during the Grand Prix week. There is room for a helicopter to land in my paddock and they have!
Bicester Village - The outlet shopping centre that people travel for miles to visit is 28 miles and an easy 40 minute drive. All those Designer bargains just waiting to be snapped up. The Farmhouse restaurant & cafe, Cecconi's, La Tua, Ottogenghi, Shan Shui and Bisous Bisous offer a variety of excellent culinary experiences.
Coton Manor offers a wonderful and peaceful garden to walk around with a yummy tea and an opportunity to buy plants at the end of your visit. This stunning ten acre garden occupies a hillside position extending down from the 17th century manor house,
Stratford-on-Avon is 38 miles away for all those Shakespeare lovers.... the birthplace of William Shakespeare is steeped in culture and history. A fabulous theatre too.
Milton Keynes is also a super fun destination, endless shopping, a huge choice of restaurants. Xscape has bowling, cinema, skydiving, trampoline parks, ski slopes and even a casino - major attractions for all ages.
